ABOUT OUR PROJECT

The project IT'S TIME TO CARE (ITTC) continues successful international  project It's Time to Help (ITTH; 2014-2016) and its goal is to deepen and extend ITTH´s outputs  and results.  ITTC uses the methodology  of the programme Eco School in 7 steps (analyse, plan, monitor, evaluate, inform, involve and disseminate) which is in accordance with the European 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) such as Quality Education, Responsible Consumption and Production or Partnership for The Goals. ITTC deals  with the problems  defined in the terms of key challenges in the former project (water, energy,  school environment, biodiversity, waste, and Eco-consumer). Our aim is to concentrate on deeper analyses of the respective topics and bring new ideas  and solutions. Our topics are:

• Sustainable use of water - availability of drinking water, its quantity and quality, life in water

• Sustainable energy - approach to affordably priced, secure, sustainable and modern power sources

• Sustainable towns - availability of quality and safe living and of essential services

• Sustainable society - responsible consumption and production,  industry, innovation and infrastructure

• Climate changes – struggle  with climate changes

• Sustainable use of land - life on land, land management and biodiversity decrease.

Using STEAM concept (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Maths) for research education with the prospect to interconnect other school subjects such as ICT, Geography, Languages and History while working on science experiments together  with foreign language learning, improving communicative competences and contributes to students further career orientation and helps them decide  on their possible further study in technical  field.

The partners are from different parts  of Europe so they have different experience, possibilities and opportunities how to elaborate the SDGs further in education. Our aim is to help each  other how to intertwine formal and informal education, increase students and teachers’ motivations in further study and compare their moves,  exchange methodology  of science and language teaching, share their work with it and how it influences students’ occupational choice.

ITTC aims not only on students, teachers at primary/secondary/tertiary education but also on the public, specialists in various fields, science centres, enterprisers, companies and free-time centres and thus they all will have a great chance to enter into friendly relationships, exchange experience and ideas, learn about other countries  and lifestyles there and create a positive attitude to foreign languages and increase the motivation of adult employees in lifelong learning.

The integral part of the ITTC will be teachers´ training and schooling for developing  their personal and professional competences such as in constructivist teaching methods, collaborative  teaching and learning or methods of leading students to develop  a conceptual framework and problem solving skills.
